It’s time to get organized for June, the end of a year and summer school! Let’s see if Teach Junkie can help break down s ome teacher organization stuff as your personal teacher’s assistant. {wink}
So, let’s take a day to really plan and organize your schedule. Here are some of the things to do!
How to Organize – Teacher Organization
1. When you’re planning for the end of the year, done with school {woohoo} and planning your to do list, you can keep your cool and not feel overwhelmed when you write it down. If you think of your to-do list as your optimal teacher organization tool, then you’ll have your mental energy saved up for executing all of your great ideas. I’ll list some free printable to-do lists in case your style isn’t just using post it notes.
2. Now is the time to print and laminate. Okay seriously, we probably get in a little more time during the summer months to watch tv or sit in the sun. It’s a great time to cut out those printable items like 40 Roll and Cover “Bump” Cool Math Games, Spring Addition Game {Free Download} Bee Stinging Sevens or your new set of calendar pieces. Your mind can be preoccupied on summer things and you can be productive for school, with things you know you want to use. {ha!}
Birthday and Unbirthday Celebrations
3. Get your birthday and unbirthday celebration ideas lined up. You don’t have to use bulletin board space to recognize student birthdays, so here are some creative ways that you can recognize birthdays. These ways are inexpensive and perfect to celebrate students with summer birthdays the last week of school so they can have their day in the spotlight too. {Hence, the unbirthdays!} So what fits your style?
When you know exactly how you want to celebrate birthdays, then when they pop up through the year, you’ll have it under control and ready to go! If you’re still in need of ideas, check out these pinterest birthday links by other teachers. They’re already organized for you!
Personal Assistant
4. Plan lots of days with NO teacher stuff. Yep, simple as that. Give time to release yourself from thinking as a teacher even if creating teacher stuff, decorating or reorganizing classroom stuff is part of your hobby.
5. Read a good book that moves you forward as a person, mom, wife, etc. Learn to be the best you from a successful person who has achieved something you want to add to your life. Find out what they know and learn to think like they do.
6. Pick an online teacher-led book study to be a part of since it’s low key, no stress and you can gets tons of ideas from others. No one will mind if you bring sunglasses or your flip flops to the study! {love it}

Summer School-Related Activities
7. If you’re looking to keep students working during the summer months, then here are some June daily writing prompts for the month of June. But I’d also recommend these summer writing prompt ideas for younger writers.
8. Have students (or you) create a summer to do list like this cute Popsicle themed one, so that way everything you want to read, learn or accomplish is written down and easier to figure out how to accomplish!
9. Enjoy the summer months by doing summer-like things! Here are 100 summer things to help get the ball rolling for ideas and let your imagination wander.
Father’s Day Activities
10. With Father’s Day hitting in June, we can’t leave dad out of the picture! No matter whether you’re in school or out of school I’ve got your back with these ideas.
Print a free Father’s Day card or enjoy 50 Father’s Day free printables,
- give dad CUTE coupons to tell him how much you care,
- write dad a flip book,
- create a mug, diploma or coupon book just for dad (or grandpa)
- learn how to make father’s day cards that look like shirts {super cute},
- or use a brown sack for primary students to get the same effect,
- write about things dad can and can’t do to make dad smile.
Classroom Decor {How to DIY}
11. Start a smashbook or collection of your favorite classroom looks, color schemes and decor/organization ideas. You’ll be thankful that you started stashing away classroom decor ideas or ways to do teacher organization with supply labels when it’s back to school sales. You’ll already know what you’re looking for and be ready to save big!
