The first day of school is an exciting day for everyone. Here is a fun, free printable to make it even more awesome. These free first day of school necklaces are just right for that.

Freebie First Day of School Necklaces

I’ve made you editable first day of school necklaces (or necklace badges) to celebrate and just for fun.

Students will enjoy wearing their first day of school necklaces at the end of their first day and showing them off to their families.

They can color their necklace or you can print them onto (affiliate) brightly colored paper to make this a super quick thing.

The necklaces are badge-like circles with a front and a back. You can edit the back of the necklaces to have your name and the date. (And you could always add an extra text box on the back for student names if you want to)

Cut out a necklace badge for each student after you add your details on the back and print them.

No need to laminate them – just add string and glue or staple the badge front and back to each other once the string is in place.

You can always just print a copy and hand write your details on the backs of the necklaces and copy that master too – no need for a computer. {wink}

But, if you do want to use the editable portion – then you’ll need Powerpoint or Google Docs to use that file. If you use Google Docs, you’ll need to change the page setup (to be 8.5 x 11) after you import the document.

To make cutting the quickest, I suggest folding the paper in half (along where the badge will crease) and cutting out the entire badge by cutting a single circle.

You’ll be able to complete a whole class set in no time!

Of course, if you are doing these with first or second grade and want them to color their own, they can always cut the necklace badges out themselves.

First Day of School Necklaces Options

You’ll love that I’ve included a few options so you can get exactly what you want for your back to school necklaces.
