Finding the perfect watercolor art project can be just as simple as snagging 3 materials and 30 minutes. This wildflower watercolor project was designed for kindergarten, first grade and second grade. Students create Georgia O’Keeffe inspired wildflowers with oil pastel and paint.
Wildflower Art Project
Students will draw a flower and petals using a black oil pastel onto watercolor paper. Drawing the petals to the edges of the paper scale it just right – big and bold! With each grade level, decide what colors to make available and discuss creating shades of color too. Paint with either watercolor or tempera paint cakes all the way to the edges to get gorgeous, vibrant results.
